Kakadu National Park – The Backpack Journal

Watch our quick impression about one of Australia’s most impressive natural areas, the Kakadu National Park. Aboriginal tribes still inhabit Kakadu. One of the spoken languages by the Aborignals in Kakadu is “Gagudju”. Most probably “Kakadu” derived from “Gagudju”, because of mispronounciation from the Aboriginal word.

We visited Kakadu National Park at the beginning of the dry season. There where still some flooded roads from the heavy rainfall in the months before. Kakadu’s natural beauty and rich history made a deep impression on us.
